Not Another Employee Wellness Seminar šŸ˜

Sure, it sounds nice, but please donā€™t make me sit through another Employee Wellness Se.inar.

Let me guess, your organization is looking to have a specialist come in. They are going to address the burnout many of your coworkers (including you) are starting to feel. They are coming to the room with some cookie-cutter suggestions. Suggesting everyone do the same 3 thingsā€¦

  1. Get Active & Outside

  2. Eat a Balanced Diet

  3. Have Alone Time

But our leaders are missing something. We donā€™t actually want a Wellness Webinar.

Wellness Webinars are
the new Pizza Parties.

These webinars are a band-aid put on a serious injury.

We actually want to be invested in.

  • Understand Our Strengths ~~ We want to have a deeper connection to the work we do.

  • See Us As Whole Humans ~~ We are more than just our work. We have a life outside of work.

  • Work Smarter, Not Harder ~~ We want to be more efficient so we have time to do what we love (not work more).

Some suggestions?

I would love to tell you to bring me in to talk with your team, but that might not be what they actually need. So here is what I think you should consider.

  1. Ask Your Team What They Want

    • It is so simple that it is confusing. Bring them a couple of options of what you can actually make happen. Look at your budget or changes you can make with work day-to-day. Then, ask what they want (odds are they might have a few suggestions).

  2. Lean Into Your Teamā€™s Strengths

    • Find the work/tasks that your team members actually like doing, and see if you can integrate that into their work more. Consider letting them change the way that they do work. Allow them to adapt processes to their Strengths.

  3. Ask Them How They Are (really, hear me out)

    • People are on auto-pilot when they are asked, ā€œHow are you?ā€ So take a moment to hear about how life is outside of work. Do your best to care and practice empathy. Life is hard right now, so find out how your team is actually doing.

So before you book ANOTHER Wellness Webinar, consider taking a different approach. When you decide you are ready to invest in your teamā€™s Strengths, letā€™s talk. I work with purpose-driven organizations to design a culture of thriving by intentionally using Strengths and WellBeing.

If you want to continue this conversation, I invite you to contact me using this form. Until then, I hope you have a good one!
